"This is the end, my only friend, the end." [Oct. 11th, 2005|10:16 pm]
Hello everyone, I have re-appeared in this thing called, "livejournal."

So what's new with Omar these days, you ask? Not much. He's just learning more things about friends and what type of people are still stuck in a high school mentality.

Speaking of which, how many times must I go through friends that I think know, but I have absolutely no idea what type of person they are? It's a never ending cycle. It's just the way I have to look at it for the rest of my life. But these days I also look at it in this perspective, "You lose one, gain five more." And in most cases, this is true. When I left high school, I never once looked back. I hated high school, I left certain friends that I'll never see again, and I'm happy about that, it shows I've moved on. Though it sucks I haven't kept in touch with certain friends, I'm glad I haven't kept in touch with other people. But during these past couple of months, I realized another thing, this, "livejournal" is the only thing that keeps me linked to high school.

As arrogant as this sounds, I don't care about what's going on with people's lives anymore. Gossip and jealousy are all high school traits that I no longer need to be associated with. So I'm sorry if anyone takes offense to that, but I just don't care. So as of today, I will never, ever write another entry on this site. Goodbye everyone, I hope you have nice lives. Take care.

Always,

Omar

Leaving for school... [Aug. 22nd, 2005|11:54 pm]
[music |Coldplay: What If]

Well guys, it's been a fun summer, but I have to go back to Berkeley. This will probably be the last time you see me until the holidays. I may or may not be here for thanksgiving, but I will definitely be back during Christmas time. Until then, take care everyone. Bye!

COLDPLAY! [Aug. 22nd, 2005|02:08 am]
[music |Coldplay: Til Kingdom Come]

First off, I have to apologize for the people I called while I was at the concert, I was intoxicated due to the amount of alcohol I consumed during the concert, so I didn't know who I was calling. So if you enjoyed the concert backround, you guys rocked. If you didn't, sorry about bothering you.

Anyway, the Coldplay concert was, THE BEST CONCERT EVER!!! They played about 17 of their songs and all of the songs sounded great live. I sang along with just about everyone and with my friend who went with me.

By far, the funniest line Chris Martin said was this. "Well, uh, we're gonna play another song right now. HOLY SHIT! A BRA! Hey, now, all of us are married. Ah, who am I kidding? Just don't say anything to US weekly and we should be all right."

Last weekend in Southern Cal sure did go out with a bang! YEAH!!!

Dilemma. [Aug. 21st, 2005|08:16 am]
Hmm....everyone who said they wanted to go to the coldplay concert tonight, canceled on me. Is this a dilemma, or what?

[music |Coldplay: Low]

It seems like it's been forever since I've updated this thing, but here goes. Today, I finally got my Dell Laptop that I had ordered two weeks ago. It's a Dell Inspiron 9300, and it rocks. 17'' widescreen, 60 gig hard drive and intel inside centrino mobile technology, I love this laptop!

It also seems like it was yesterday when I came back from Berkeley to come back down for the summer, and yet, on tuesday, I'll be going back up there and I won't come back until Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Summer has had it's ups and downs, and I know it's going to go out with a bang because I still have my Coldplay Concert in Irvine this sunday at 7:30! I've waited all summer, and I can't believe in a matter of days I'll be seeing them live since 2003. Wow, I guess it's finally come. Well, I better get some sleep, I have work tomorrow. Til another day...

Well, first off, I have to say Happy Birthday to anyone, besides myself, that has a birthday on July 21st.

Anyway, I have to thank the people who actually remembered my birthday and who sent me comments on myspace, on here, text messages, and/or voicemail. So a big thanks goes out to Casey, Chris, Adrienne, Edgar, Keenon, Donald, Monica, Mitra, Mr. Wang, and (all the way from Hawaii) DC. I didn't think DC would actually call me, but she did, so that was nice of her, I felt special, ;p

So this is my last year as a teenager. Next year I'll be 20. Heh, and to think just last year I turned 18. Well, anyway, I just wanted to come on here and to say thanks to anyone who gave me a "shout-out." That was very nice of you guys that you actually remembered, so thanks again. Well, ttyl. See ya guys later!

Duuuude, I got someone's autograph, and you don't =p. [Jul. 18th, 2005|10:16 pm]
Ok, so today, Real Madrid came to town to play the LA Galaxy, and basically kicked the crap out of the MLS soccer club. Anyway, most of us know that certain people play on Real Madrid because they're like the NY yankees of the soccer world because they spend the most money on the best players in the world.

I GOT DAVID BECKHAM's AUTOGRAPH!!!! Along with Ronaldo of Brazil and other great players around the soccer world. Man, all I need to do now is sell that to people in either Europe of Central/South America.

I didn't even care about soccer unless it's the world cup.

Driving to and from SF in one day. [Jul. 17th, 2005|12:11 pm]
So yesterday I went to SF to get my apartment situation situated so that I have housing next semester. I left around 4am yesterday and got up there around 10am or so. I hung at borders until I went to the richmond to see the two places. Anyway, I left SF around 12:00 and got on interstate 5 around 1 or so and got home yesterday around 7 PM. It was surreal driving for 14 hours yesterday but everything worked out fine.

In other news, I've always though of myself as a type of critic, and am going to do decipher the new reality tv shows that are currently airing. Personally, I despise almost every reality tv show out there, but there are some good ones that I'd recommend to people. For instance, the new Surreal Life show is hilarious. The cast, the show and theme are all brilliant. And then there's, "Hogan knows best," which is personally stupid in the beginning, but gets rather funny as the show progresses.

However, I'm not thrilled at the new season of "Laguna Beach." I've always despised that show just because they always go by the theme, "The Real Orange County," which is absurd because there are some cities in Orange County, (Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Anaheim, to name a few) that are just as bad as a lot of ghettos in LA. I also hate that show because I hate when people ask me, "You're going to school in SF, right?" "Do you know that Stephen Guy?" "Is he hot?" Oh wow, thanks for making me feel like a rock star! SHUT UP!!! Who cares if I do know him or not? He's just a "D" list celebrity anyway. Here's an idea, "why don't you ask me if I know better celebrities, cause I do! I hung out and had lunch with Jared Leto in Hollywood, I met Will Smith at a Hospital a while back, met Bono from U2, Mario Andretti (whose a legend in the racing world) and getting to talk to Jerry Seinfeld about three times in Beverly Hills. Hmm...I guess those experiences wouldn't be as cool as meeting Stephen from Laguna Beach! "Like, oh my god, that guy is such a hottie!" Hags.

Anyway, back to being the critic. This new season is gonna be stupid because they're only three people from the old cast, and the new people are going to be riding the coattails from last years hit. Give me a break, the last thing I need to see on TV is rich kids surfing, fighting, and getting laid. I already can see that on TV, come back when you think of something else, bitches.

Getting your teeth cleaned? How about getting your wisdom teeth extracted! [Jul. 7th, 2005|12:25 pm]
Ok, so I go into the dentist's office for a routine check-up and a teeth cleaning, but low and behold, the dentist says, "You need your wisdom teeth out!" So I thought to myself, "eh, why not?" So he numbs up my mouth and takes the top two out, while the bottom two will be taken out tomorrow. My mouth is full of blood, I have to do a lot of stuff to prevent infections and stop the bleeding. On top of all this, I'm working right now! Don't you just love days like that?

It really sucks that Andy Roddick lost again. I know Roddick was fatigued from playing two straight days against two great opponents, but even if he was healthy, I doubt he would have beaten Roger Federer. Speaking of Wimbledon, I just love their theme song. Not the one at the beginning, but the one NBC always plays either before the game or after it, that songs always makes me think of the great Pete Sampras.

In other news, I went to a baseball game tonight. It would have been fun if the dodgers would have won, but with all their injuries, I knew they weren't going to win. And from what I read after the game, JD Drew is gonna be out 6-8 weeks because that damn rookie pitcher of the diamondbacks threw a ball at him. Oh well, I guess Paul DePodesta is gonna have to try and fix this.

Speaking of Paul DePodesta, the other day I read the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, a New York Times Bestseller, and according to that book, baseball is truly a fucked up sport because of it's unfair advantages to small market places like Oakland. I mean sure, the book really was about giving praise to GM Billy Beane of the A's because of his philosophies, but it wasn't until Paul DePodesta was Assistant GM to the A's that the A's started winning their division every year and going to the playoffs. And interestingly enough, after the 2003 season in which Paul DePodesta left the A's to become the Dodgers GM, the A's finally lost their division title to the Angels and the Dodgers finally won their Division in 15 years. Hmm...I guess the owner of the Dodgers was right in bringing in Paul to the Dodgers. Anyway, most people on here don't even know what I'm talking about, so I better stop.

World News [Jun. 19th, 2005|11:22 am]
[music |Coldplay: Fix You]

The lower Spanish Parliament has recently passed a bill that would allow legalized gay marriages. The same bill would also give same sex couples equal rights such as adoption, protection, etc., as regular citizens of Spain. Hundreds of thousands of protesters led by 20 Roman Catholic Bishops and conservative opposition leaders marched through Downtown Madrid on Saturday to protest the bill. The bill is expected to become law in a matter of a few weeks when the Senate votes on it. When Spain passes the bill, it will become the first Latin European Country with a large Conservative Roman Catholic population to legalize gay marriages and gay rights.

This landmark decision will inevitable once again spark the long standing US debate between supporters and opposition over gay marriages/rights when the broadcast media will report on this decision. Some feel the opponents of gay marriages/rights reduce to the slippery slope(reduction to absurdity) fallacy by saying the world will come to an end when every country in the world legalizes gay marriages. While others feel that the supporters often use decisions of days past with claims that interracial marriages were outlawed, but now are law, as a ridiculous argument for the simple reason that same sex couples cannot procreate.

The initial debate in the US took center stage in the Presidential Election of 2004 with the Scott Peterson Murder Trial in Modesto, CA was at its climax, when the news media heard of another story that took place 100 miles away in San Francisco, CA when Mayor Gavin Newsom issued more than a thousand same sex civil unions. Many felt this was the true reason that President Bush won re-election because many Conservative Roman Catholics viewed his banned on gay marriages as sacred and wanted to see if he could turn that into reality.

Many Hispanics, particularly Central Americans, were torn because on one side, they liked the Democratic party because of their views on health care and such while many Republicans feel that health care should be privatized. And because many hated the Republicans Party because of what the administrations of Reagan and Bush Sr. did in the 80s when they supported regimes that tried to overthrow the socialist policies that were in control in once allies of the US, this was in part because 1/3 Hispanics were dying of curable diseases and 1/2 of Hispanics were illiterate and ill-educated while their leaders and politicians were well established and rich. While on the other side, many were devoted conservative catholics that hated gay marriages and people more than the republican party, so many supported the republican party because of their views on gay people.

Whereas many generations since the 80s have been more tolerant of gay people especially with shows like, "Queer as Folk," "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy/Girl," "Will and Grace" and movies like, "The Next Big Thing," which show many gay people in positive lights through real-life situations that are often comedic or serious. So while the debate continues, only one thing is certain, the opponents and supporters will always be on polar opposites so many will never compromise or accept each other.

I've decided to go Vegan. As much as that'll be hard for me to do, the sooner I start, the better it'll be for me.

Speaking of which, next year(or in two years) I'll compete in the escape from alcatraz triathlon.

Stupid Post, don't read unless you're bored [Jun. 15th, 2005|12:48 pm]
As much as I don't like Weezer, their song, "Beverly Hills" is pretty damn catchy. But really, all it does is perpetuates the idea that everyone in Beverly Hills is a millionaire, even though housing prices are more in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach.

Speaking of Beverly Hills, I've come to the realization that there's just too many things that are filmed at Torrance High School. I mean, I knew that for a long time, but I mean, damn, the list of everything that's filmed over there is frickin long. "She's All That", "Whatever It Takes", "Beverly Hills 90210", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," etc., were all filmed at Torrance HS. It's good to know that a lot of things are filmed in the South Bay of LA. Anyway, this post has to be the most stupidest post I ever have done, so I better stop right now. Hmm...when you work full-time, your mind does start to go. Hahaha, oh joy.

[music |The Bravery: An Honest Mistake]

I haven't updated in a good minute, so I might as well right now. This is gonna be my last week in Berkeley, as I'll be leaving this town for the summer. I guess apart of me will miss Berkeley because of the awesome people I met up here. I can't move to the Presidio/Richmond in SF until mid august, so I guess I'll be in LA for the time being. College is practically done for me, and it's time to hit the waves in LA/OC!

On a side note, has anyone noticed this trend of post-punk, "indie rock" emerging on the scene? Just last year we saw the growth of Franz Ferdinand, and many of their songs sound 80esque. In addition, some Killer songs sound 80ish. And now, a band I discovered on 103.1(indie radio) back in LA, The bravery, is gonna be popular very soon cause of the OC. I mean, let's face it, we can see how 80esque the bravery sounds. Plus the lead singer, Sam Endicott, looks like Morrissey except more "punk." The only thing I dislike about the OC is that the bands who go on there become more mainstream afterwords, and less indie. I mean, I really don't want to see them become a Maroon 5 or the killers. Granted, they're ok bands but they've become to mainstream. And really, it's sickening cause once you become mainstream, bands tend to suck and will only have only two more years left, so I'd really hate to see that to a promising band like The Bravery. Eh, I guess I can see why Maroon 5 or the killers are popular cause their music is enjoyable and if they're making their fans happy, I guess that's also good. But as I said before, I favor British Bands more cause they tend to stay around longer.

Whoa, I guess this decade is gonna be compared to the 80s. I mean, besides the obvious comparison between the growth in military spending, the rule of the conservatives, wars in the middle east, and now this decade's music is really starting to sound like it's coming from the 80s.

Hmm...speaking of the OC, I expected more. Likewise with Smallville. Hopefully 24 or Everwood will have a better season finales than the OC and Smallville. But I guess we'll have to see. :/ Until another day.

A real update! [Apr. 23rd, 2005|08:40 pm]
[music |Coldplay: Speed of Sound]

God, I love that new Coldplay song, "Speed of Sound." I bought speed of sound the other day from iTunes and I can't stop listening to it. British Bands do rock, fcuk all that emo and shit, lol j/k. "Speed of Sound" sounds fairly similar to clocks (and that's my favorite song by CP.) Yet, I can't stand that other new song from CP, "Talk." It's one of the lesser songs I'll just have to avoid, heh.

Oh man, I can't wait for June 7th, the day the new coldplay album comes out. AHH!!! Damn you, New York! I damn you to hell for making to go your "crap" town and interview for your internship! But damn you especially for making me miss Coachella in southern cal where Coldplay will be headlining! Hahaha, j/k. But in all seriousness, I can't wait for the concert to come out. I remember 2003 when I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl and when they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live after the superbowl that year. Man oh man, those were just damn good concerts. Seeing Coldplay live is just fucking amazing. Their songs (I'm gonna say something nor calish to seriously laugh at myself, so beware. Hahaha, j/k) sound "hella" better live. (I still don't get how people use that word, "hella" it annoys the shit out of me.) Anyway, Gah! I must contain my excitement! Lol. Oh well, I know it'll be a good concert cause Rilo Kiley and Franz Ferdinand will be their opening acts. I'll just count the days until the concert comes out, and you better believe I'm getting tickets! But I'm gonna get tickets to see them in LA, forget seeing them in the bay area, ;)

Anyway, I have about less than a month in the bay area before I go back home. Haha, bay area, more like "gay" area, hahaha, j/k. ;) Well, I'll be serious from now on. My first year of college is slowly coming to an end.(well, in a month, haha.) College had its upside, but it also had its bad sides, (ugly ones at that.) but I'm still grateful for the awesome new people I met up here. And I'm also grateful for rediscovering my old Dodson friends. Haha. Anyway, I'll talk to you guys later!

-Edit-
I saw the musical, "Lennon" about John Lennon's life like a week ago, and that show effing rocked. I loved how they played, "Imagine" that's one of my favorite songs of all time, cause it's just awesome. In other news, Mr. Wang said I should transfer to UCB just cause I already know more people over there then at my school, and cause I also follow the football team. And besides, I'll get cheaper season tickets if I do transfer, ;) lol. Oh yeah, and I just found out that I live across the street by a place that started the career of Green Day, go figure =p.

For the hell of updating. [Apr. 13th, 2005|11:39 pm]
The ending is here

Sardonic feelings are timid.
Ways of life diminutive
Which conduit is best for him?
The answer is clear.
He was content in the beginning,
But was disenchanted in the end.
The joy of life has returned,
In the form of times of yore.
The contention is right,
Existence will never be the same,
And joy will never depart.
The two consigns are apparent.
The black and white occupy the place.
These are swathed in his mind.
The black has disillusioned him.
The white has made him content.
The choice is clear, the white was there.
The white will always be there.
His fairytale has come to a close.
He will live happily ever after.

Sea of Time [Apr. 10th, 2005|12:41 am]
Her eyes were as clear as diamonds
Her hair was as light as the sand.
The sigh of passion came from within,
The plurality of feelings rear again.
The sight of her made night and day seem as though they were one.
Day became Night, Night became Day.
He lives in his own world and reality.
Things were never the same whenever he saw her.
He had the time, he just never acted on it.
The hourglass reached its final tip
The passion came again
He stood still.
Only if she knew
The time has ended
It’s too late for him.
Her eyes are imbedded in him,
Her hair reminded him of that place.
He’ll see her again.
For he can never forget the time and place.
Time has passed, will he ever be the same?
Who knows?
The only certainty is the hope he has.
The world around him is crumbling, for the good not bad.
It’s over, but it’s never over.
The feelings are ready to emerge.
The walls have fallen,
His slumber has ended.
The time is now, the road is straight.
He knows which road to take.
His ending is finally here.

The Two Doors of Prosperity [Apr. 6th, 2005|10:41 pm]
There are two doors in his path.
One leads to happiness,
The other also leads to happiness.
The mirror images are uncanny.
How will he choose?
Is it right to favor one door over the other?
Both doors have great rewards,
Yet he knows he’ll miss something by choosing one door over the other.
The fear has settled in.
He contends that he can’t choose,
It’s impossible for him to even try.
The only thing he does know,
Is that he has to choose soon.
Both opportunities are there,
Which door is the best for him to choose?
The blue one or the red one?
Confusion has taken form,
His rhetoric is slain.
The day is slowly approaching,
Which door will he choose?

Reasons why Baseball isn't as good as the other four major sports. [Feb. 22nd, 2005|05:39 pm]
1. Of the four major sports in the US, it's the ONLY sport where there is NO salary cap and revenue sharing. (Simply put, Baseball doesn't share any profits from its tickets, jerseys, etc. to the media because all the players and owners collect that money. Granted, Hockey doesn't have a salary cap and revenue sharing, but at leas they'll have it next season.)

2. Of the four major sports, it's the only sport where there is NO penalty for using performance enchancing drugs. (Hmm...the NBA, NFL, NHL, the NCAA, and the OLYMPICS all have strict regulations against people who use performance enhancing drugs. Now, why doesn't baseball have that too?)

3. Of the four major sports, their jerseys' cost more than any other sports jerseys'. (Why? Don't ask me.)

4. Of the four major sports, baseball is the only sport to have had players throw a title game and to have coaches betting against their own teams (In 1919, The Chicago "Black" Sox and Cinncinati Reds went head to head. Players from the "Black" Sox were paid to throw the world series. It was discovered that Pete Rose placed bets against the teams he coached. Granted they were punished, but I haven't seen that in any other of the sports)

5. Hmm...and here's the latest reason.
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3403664
(Basically, instead of addressing the media about his steroid use, Barry Bonds blantantly avoided those questions about the story he told to the Grand Jury about not knowing that he was taking "steroids." And in turn, he rippied Jose Canseco for "lying" about people who use steroids in baseball in his latest book. At least Jose Canseco never admitted to not using steroids like a lot of people in baseball and has the decency to not lie like everyone else in baseball.)

Now, many of you guys are going to bad mouth hockey. Well, (now) I do too. But here's an interesting fact, if baseball wasn't known as, "America's Past Time," they'd be going through the same disputes between the owners and players like hockey. Think of it this way, Canada cares more about hockey than baseball, which is why the majority of Americans didn't give a shit that hockey's season was cancelled. Yet, when we turn that around, Canadians didn't give a shit that the Montreal Expos moved to Washington(DC), yet we did.

Now, I'm a sports nut and I feel indifferent about baseball. But I feel that baseball does more things that harm the American public more than any other sport.

I think this best explains why I'm not a moderate democrat anymore. [Feb. 18th, 2005|09:23 am]
I think the correct term for me is "libertarian." I have liberal beliefs that should be no one else's business but my own. Yet I have conservative beliefs when it comes to monetary issues. Speaking of which, I think this is the best example of why I don't like SF. I wrote this shortly after I was attacked, so you can read it if you want to. But if you're still going to be mad at me, well then, it's all right. I just want you guys to read all of my reasons as to why my political affiliation changed. Anyway here's a better explanation of why I'm not a moderate democrat anymore. This was dated, November 3rd, 2004.
